Diagnosed in 2006 at age 54, McFinn’s symptoms quickly progressed and became life threatening. He wanted to give up and die at that point.
He took matters into his own hands and found ways to help himself. He is no longer in a wheelchair and has returned to his former way of life of hiking, driving his tractor, working on his land, and climbing mountains.
